Ordered to rest
The Italian international took a heavy blow to his jaw when he collided with AC Perugia goalkeeper Zeljko Kalac during Sunday's Serie A game between the sides. Tests on the player today revealed trauma to the player's jaw and neck, and he has been ordered to rest for between eight and ten days.
Matches to miss
Consequently, Inzaghi will miss the Group H trip to Celta's Balaídos stadium next Wednesday, as well as this weekend's league match against US Lecce. He is also a doubt for the Milan derby against Internazionale FC on 5 October.
Hospital case
Inzaghi, 30, had to be taken to hospital after the clash with Kalac, which came midway through the second half of Milan's 1-1 draw at Perugia. Last week, Milan opened their Champions League group-stage campaign with a 1-0 home win against AFC Ajax, with Inzaghi scoring the only goal on 67 minutes.
