Article body
Ligament damage
A scan today confirmed the Danish player will miss the bulk of Celtic's UEFA Champions League Group A fixtures as well as vital domestic games after sustaining the injury in a reserve match against Livingston FC on Monday.
Bad timing
Laursen's injury could not have come at a worse time for the Scottish Premier League side who also have Sweden's Johan Mjällby sidelined for six weeks and Belgian Joos Valgaeren fighting for fitness.
Loan signing
Last season's UEFA Cup runners-up kick off their Champions League campaign on 17 September. Laursen's place on the left of defence could now go to Michael Gray who joined Celtic on Sunday on a four-month loan from Sunderland AFC.
