Madrid meet Marseille
There will be eight matches on each night, with sides from Group E, F, G and H in action on the Tuesday. Another highlight should be the Group F encounter between Real Madrid CF and Olympique de Marseille, both former European champions.
Bayern face Scots
The following night, Wednesday 17 September, sees sides in Group A, B, C and D open their campaigns. German champions FC Bayern München begin their European season at home to last season's beaten UEFA Cup finalists Celtic FC in Group A. The champions of Ukraine and Russia, FC Dynamo Kyiv and FC Lokomotiv Moskva, will meet on the same night in Group B.
