Two free-kicks
The Turkish side wrapped up their second 3-0 victory in a fortnight against the Bulgarian champions, despite CSKA starting brightly and going close with Emil Gargorov's early free-kick. Brazilian César Prates demonstrated his expertise from dead-ball situations by scoring Galatasaray's first goal with a 28th-minute free-kick.
CSKA outclassed
Sabri Sarioglu cut in from the left to score the visitors' second ten minutes after half-time and as spirited but outclassed CSKA pushed forward in search of a consolation goal, Arif Erdem rounded off the scoring on the counter-attack four minutes from the end.
