Midfield player Cissé will spend the coming season with Monaco, with the principality club having the option of a permanent transfer next summer. Cissé, who is contracted to PSG until 2006, spent last season on loan with English club West Ham United FC.
European chance
The 25-year-old was told on his return to the Parc des Princes that his first-team opportunities would be limited under new coach Vahid Halilhodzic. He joins a club who will play in the UEFA Champions League group stage in 2003/04. Monaco have also secured Argentinian defender Hugo Ibarra on a one-year loan from FC Porto.
