Article body
European debut
Leotar drew 0-0 in Luxembourg in their first ever European tie last week, and went close to taking the lead in the first minute of tonight's return when Kerkez shot narrowly wide. However, 24 minutes later he was able to claim Leotar's inaugural goal in continental competition when he latched on to a cross from the right by Sinisa Mulina.
Leotar reduced
Grevenmacher, themselves making their Champions League debut, pressed forward, and gained hope when Leotar were reduced to ten men on 35 minutes when Ninoslan Milenkovic was sent off.
Kerkez clincher
However, the home side held on and although Boban Stojanovic missed a good chance to put them clear early in the second half, Kerkez sealed the win five minutes from the end on the counterattack.
Slavia test next
Czech side SK Slavia Praha provide the opposition for Leotar in the second qualifying round. Leotar are at home in next Wednesday's first leg.
