The 34-year-old forward's previous contract expired at the end of June, and his new deal will keep him at the Premiership side until summer 2004. "I'm so pleased to have signed a new contract," Bergkamp said. "Arsenal is a fantastic club and it has always been my intention to end my career here."
Successful spell
Bergkamp joined Arsenal in 1995 from Internazionale FC for €10.5m, and was instrumental in the club winning the league and FA Cup double in 1998 and 2002, and also helped the Gunners retain the cup last season.
