Danish international Thomas Helveg is back in the colours of Internazionale FC after ending his loan spell with city rivals AC Milan.
Loan return
The 32-year-old had been with Milan since 1998 but actually moved to Inter in the summer of 2000, only to be loaned straight back to the Rossoneri. However, Helveg made only two league starts for Milan last season and is determined to make an impact for Inter.
Thoughts for future
Speaking to Inter's official website, Helveg said: "I hope I can give the Inter fans lots of joy and I hope my Rossoneri past doesn't count too much." Regarding his former club, he added: "They are two clubs on a par. There's the same organisation and the same important objectives."
Italian adventure
Helveg added that it was "a nice feeling" to be with Inter and expected the forthcoming campaign to be "long and demanding". The defender first moved to Italian football for the 1993/94 campaign, going on to spend five seasons with Udinese Calcio.
Karagounis unveiled
Greek midfield player Giorgios Karagounis has also been confirmed as one of Inter's new faces for next season after joining from Panathinaikos FC. The other arrivals are French midfield player Sabri Lamouchi, Senegal forward Khalilou Fadiga, Brazilian winger Luciano Siqueira and Andy van der Meyde. The latter was the latest player to be signed after a deal was struck with AFC Ajax last Friday.
