Lengthy lay-off
The 25-year-old Austrian goalkeeper, who joined the UEFA Champions League participants from relegated Sunderland AFC earlier this summer, will be out of action for several months after sustaining the injury in midweek.
'Very upset'
"I am very upset for Jürgen because he was just settling in well at his new clubs and was looking forward to impressing us," said Chelsea manager Claucio Ranieri. "I wish him well in his recovery and we will be supporting him all the way."
