'Glad to be back'
Halkias has agreed a two-year deal with the Athens club with the option of an extension after his contract with Iraklis FC expired last month. The 29-year-old returns to Panathinaikos after two seasons at Iraklis. "I am glad to be back with my boyhood team," he said.
Youth product
Halkias is a product of the Panathinaikos youth system and played at the Apostolos Nikolaidis stadium until 1999. He also had a loan spell at Apollon Athens FC.
