Austria welcome back Troyansky

Fernando Ariel Troyansky has rejoined FK Austria Wien after a loan spell with VfB Admira Wacker Mödling.

Argentinian defender Fernando Ariel Troyansky has rejoined Austrian champions FK Austria Wien after ending his loan spell with VfB Admira Wacker Mödling, club benefactor Frank Stronach has confirmed.

Versatile player
Millionaire businessman Stronach originally funded the signing of the versatile defender in 2001 from Club Atlético Los Andes, but then Austria coach Walter Schachner opted to loan Troyansky to Admira.

Praise for Troyansky
Stronach admitted he was happy to see Troyansky return. "Troyansky is one of those players who are always willing to give their best and that is exactly what we need," he said.

Champions League bid
Troyansky still has two years to run on his Austria contract, and will aid his team's 2003/04 UEFA Champions League bid, which begins in the third qualifying round, under German coach Joachim Löw who replaced Christoph Daum this week.
