Holders Real Madrid CF got their UEFA Champions League campaign back on track tonight as they came from behind to defeat BV Borussia Dortmund 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu.
First win since September
Without a win in the competition since September, it looked like the reigning champions' hold on their European title was beginning to weaken when Jan Koller put Dortmund in front on the half-hour with a low shot into the far corner of Iker Casillas's goal.
Ronaldo completes comeback
However, Raúl González's fifth goal in this season's competiton restored parity two minutes before the break and Ronaldo completed the comeback when he reached Zinedine Zidane's far-post cross and scrambled a shot under the body of Jens Lehmann after 56 minutes.
Milan win again
Madrid now have four points from three matches, a point above Dortmund but still five short of Group C leaders AC Milan, who secured a third successive win by beating FC Lokomotiv Movska 1-0, Jon Dahl Tomasson scoring the only goal shortly after the hour.
United overcome Juventus
Manchester United FC were 2-1 winners in their Group D meeting with Juventus FC at Old Trafford. Wes Brown's first goal for United after four minutes gave Sir Alex Ferguson's side an early lead and Ruud van Nistelrooij made it two with a volley five minutes from time - his ninth goal in this season's competition.
Basel up to third
Although a Pavel Nedved cross defeated Fabien Barthez in the closing seconds, United hung on and now lead their group with nine points, with Juventus second on four points after FC Basel's 1-0 defeat of RC Deportivo La Coruña.
First points
The Swiss side secured their first points of the second group stage through Hakan Yakin's 30th-minute half-volley - a result that leaves Deportivo bottom of the group with just one point.
