Out of service
The Greek international faces three weeks on the sidelines after suffering a thigh injury during Tuesday's home defeat by Valencia CF. He is expected to sit out the return trip to Valencia next week and the game at Arsenal FC on 11 March, although he could be available for the final group match against AFC Ajax eight days later.
Delvecchio blow
Italian international forward Marco Delvecchio will also skip the Valencia tie with a thigh strain sustained in the same game. With new signings Olivier Dacourt and Massimo Marazzina ineligible for the Champions League, Roma coach Fabio Capello will be glad to welcome back midfielder Emerson and defender Walter Samuel for the visit to Valencia. Both men were suspended for the 1-0 reverse against the Spanish side, which left the Giallorossi bottom of the section with no points from three outings.
