FC Dynamo Kyiv have completed the club record €4m signing of Croatian international Jerko Leko from NK Dinamo Zagreb.

Four-year deal
The 22-year-old midfield player will arrive in Kiev on 8 September, after Croatia's EURO 2004™ qualifier against Estonia. Leko has signed a four-year deal with the option of an extra year and joins at the club his compatriot Goran Sablic, who signed for Dynamo last month.

Sell-on clause
In addition to the reported €4m cost of the transfer, Dinamo will receive 25 per cent of any subsequent transfer fee paid for Leko.

Squad strengthening
Dynamo, who are drawn in Group E of UEFA Champions League first group stage alongside Juventus FC, Feyenoord and Newcastle United FC, are looking to strengthen their squad after losing ten senior squad players to injury. Other recent arrivals include the Brazilian pair Leandro Machado and Diogo Rincon, and Badr El Kaddouri from Morocco.
