Dynamo fight injury crisis

Injruy-ridden FC Dynamo Kyiv have finalised the signing of Croatian Under-21 defender Goran Sablic.

In the effort to counter an unprecedented injury crisis, FC Dynamo Kyiv have hastily finalised the signing of Croatian Under-21 defender Goran Sablic.

Kyiv stunned
Also today, the Kyiv club were stunned by the news that three more of their key players will be sidelined for the upcoming UEFA Champions League tie with PFC Levski Sofia. Defenders Andriy Nesmachny and Vasyl Kardash will be out for two weeks apiece, while vital defensive midfielder Andriy Husin is out for at least three weeks.

Defenders missing
The news means that Dynamo will be without their whole first-choice back line, as Serhiy Fedorov, Vladislav Vaschuk and Olexander Holovko are all nursing injuries as well. The only cure so far is the signing from HNK Hajduk Split of Sablic, who will be eligible to face Levski on Wednesday.

Belkevich surgery
To add to Dynamo's woes, playmaker Valentin Belkevich has undergone surgery on an injured ankle, and will not be fit for another two to three weeks. "It is yet another occasion this year when we face problems one could not foresee. But we cannot change our plans to get to [UEFA] Champions League because of that. We will play to win regardless of circumstances," head coach Olexiy Mykhaylichenko said.
