Manchester United FC will take on Argentina's CA Boca Juniors in a charity match on 10 August, a week before the start of the English FA Premiership season.
UNICEF fundraiser
United, who will begin their bid to win back the UEFA Champions League title they secured in 1999 on 13 or 14 August in the third qualifying round, have had a three-year association with the beneficiaries of the friendly, the United Nations children's fund UNICEF.
'Highlight of our summer'
"The game against Boca Juniors will be the highlight of our summer," said United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. "With the fans' help, we hope to raise much-needed money that will go towards improving the education of some of the world's most vulnerable children.
'Tough opponents'
"We will be taking the game very seriously. Boca are tough opponents and it comes just four days before we embark on our new Champions League campaign so the match is a vital part of our preparations for the new season."
Past players
Boca, from Buenos Aires, produced Argentina's 1986 FIFA World Cup-winning captain Diego Maradona and current United and Argentina midfield player, Juan Sebastián Veron.
