Neville blow for United and England

Manchester United FC and England defender Gary Neville has broken a bone in his foot.

Manchester United FC's English international defender Gary Neville will miss the rest of the domestic season and possibly the FIFA World Cup finals after breaking a bone in his foot against Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Similar to Beckham
Neville has broken the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot, an injury similar to that suffered by his United and England team-mate, and best friend, David Beckham a fortnight ago in the Champions League quarter-final against RC Deportivo La Coruña.

Six to eight weeks
Neville limped out of tonight's 2-2 semi-final first-leg draw with Leverkusen after just 18 minutes and, according to his manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, faces the same six-to-eight week recovery period as Beckham. "He's got a broken metatarsal, believe it or not," Ferguson said. "He'll probably be out for the same time as David [Beckham]."
