The group stage draw separated the 32 teams into eight groups of four.

Group A: Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Club Brugge, Galatasaray

Group B: Bayern München, Tottenham Hotspur, Olympiacos, Crvena zvezda

Group C: Manchester City, Shakhtar Donetsk, Dinamo Zagreb, Atalanta

Group D: Juventus, Atlético Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Lokomotiv Moskva

Group E: Liverpool, Napoli, Salzburg, Genk

Group F: Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Internazionale Milano, Slavia Praha

Draw procedure

  • The 26 teams given direct entry to the group stage were joined by the six winners of the play-off ties
  • The teams were split into four seeding pots. Pot 1 consisted of the holders, the UEFA Europa League winners and the champions of the six highest-ranked nations. Pots 2 to 4 were determined by the club coefficient rankings.
  • No team could play a club from their own association, with the exact draw procedure to be confirmed before the ceremony.
  • The draw also established the groups for the UEFA Champions League path of the UEFA Youth League.

Clubs' coefficients are determined EITHER by the sum of all points won in the previous five years OR by the association coefficient over the same period – WHICHEVER IS THE HIGHER.
