The Take Care programme, a new game-changing initiative using the power of football to create and support healthier lifestyles and positive habits.
Designed to provide a variety of tools to support national associations, leagues, clubs, football stakeholders and schools in promoting health and well-being, the Take Care programme is tailored for key influential figures such as parents or caregivers, teachers, coaches and staff to encourage healthier lifestyles and more positive habits.
Take Care comprises six modules addressing important and interconnected areas of daily life:
- Physical activity
- Nutrition
- Mental health
- Digital addiction
- Substance awareness
- Road safety
Each module contains:
- A scientific white paper: Produced by an expert in the field and forming the foundation on which the other tools are based, the white paper introduces the rationale for the topic and provides statistics and references for those who want to learn more.
- Posters: A visual tool suggesting practical ways of implementing positive health and well-being habits to parents and caregivers, teachers, coaches, staff, children and young people.
- A podcast: An in-depth and engaging 20-minute discussion with the author of the white paper offering insights on the topic and its importance.
- A documentary: A short but inspirational documentary with personal and impactful stories from football legends and experts.
- An educational session: A concrete example that serves as a ready-to-use resource, showcasing how the tools can be brought to life in real-world settings.
A user guide is available to help football organisations and schools understand and maximise the use of these tools.
The modules will be published throughout 2025.
