Selección Catalana will join hosts Veneto in Saturday's UEFA Regions' Cup final after Antonio Dominguez's early goal proved just enough to rein in a determined Olimp Moscow.

The central defender turned in captain Guillem Cornella's corner on 11 minutes, finding the net despite a despairing dive from Andrei Pogorelov. Olimp nonetheless battled hard, having abandoned their usual lone-striker formation as they looked to haul their way past the Spanish representatives at the top of Group B.

Aleksandr Fuflygin almost replied for the Russian side within seconds of Dominguez's goal, having a shot saved by Carlos Miguel on the counterattack, with a defender rustling his effort from the rebound off the line.

Favourites to finish top of the section throughout the tournament, Selección Catalana should have been 2-0 up eight minutes after the break, Enrique Gallego firing straight at goalkeeper Pogorelov from a promising position in the box. Olimp Moscow were to give Toni Almendros's side some scares around the hour-mark, Alik Elyazyan stretching Miguel with a free-kick before just missing the target as the ball fell kindly in the area three minutes later.

Gallego went desperately close again on the counter soon afterwards, and Dominguez almost snatched his second of the night as the final whistle approached, heading straight at Pogorelov from close range, but it was not to prove a costly miss.
