Article body
Second place
The Hungarian side took full advantage of a listless performance from their Azerbaijani opponents to earn their second consecutive 6-0 win and end their UEFA Regions' Cup campaign in second place in Group B.
Szilágyi strikes
Norbert Szilágyi opened the scoring for the Hungarian side at the Allgäustadion in Wangen and they were two goals in front by the half-time interval as Zoltán Varga took his tournament total to five.
Four more
The second half provided little relief for Geyazan whose few attacking moves involved pumping long balls for Zaour Ramazanov to chase. They were finally blown away as Szabolcs hit four more in the second half.
Varga's sixth
Captain János Dóra scored his third goal of the finals after 50 minutes before Támas Kulacsik took centre stage, scoring goals in the 60th and 61st minutes. Varga added a sixth goal after 72 minutes to take him to the top of the scoring table in the finals.
Red cards
Geyazan's frustration spilled over in the final minutes of the game as they had two players dismissed. Striker Sanan Gurbanov was sent off for elbowing an opponent after 85 minutes, and Samir Abbasov followed him off the pitch four minutes later for a second bookable offence.
Third place
The result means that Szabolcs will be awarded a prize for finishing third in the tournament tonight in Wangen. Under the rules of the Regions' Cup finals, there is no third-place play-off. The team that ends the group stage with the highest number of points apart from the two sides who have reached the finals, is declared to have finished third.
