Slovaks complete starting lineup

Central Slovakia have completed the line up for the UEFA Regions' Cup finals after success in Group 8 in Hungary.

Three wins
Jan Petrak's side won all three of their games in Tiszaújváros, pushing host side Tisza-Csoport into second place, and leaving Greek side Achaia and Lithuanian contenders FC Kvintencija sharing bottom spot in the final qualifier for Europe's premier tournament for amateur footballers.

Decisive meeting
In the end, the opening meeting between Central Slovakia and Tisza proved to be the decisive game as the visitors, who had qualified fior Group 8 as one of the two winners of the preliminary rounds, won 3-1 to set the tone for the remainder of the tournament.

Final strike
Bohus Drugba's long range shot slipped through Tisza goalkeeper Tamás Papp's fingers to give Central Slovakia a 36th-minute lead, and Jozef Savol doubled their advantage after 47 minutes with a sweetly-struck free-kick. Roland Bódi pulled a goal back for Tisza three minutes later, but Pavel Pracko scored from a 77th-minute corner to complete the scoring.

Tóth dispirited
Tisza coach László Tóth was not impressed with his side's performance, saying: "We played without courage and the Slovakian side were good enough to capitalise on our mistakes. We had a good 15 minutes in the game when we had the chance to draw level, but it was the visitors who found our net again."

'The better side'
Petrak, meanwhile, was overjoyed to see his side make a decisive start. "I told my players before this match that the side that win this game would take a big advantage," he told uefa.com. "We deserved to win - we were the better side."

Point apiece
On the same day, in a match hampered by heavy rain, Kvintencija and Achaia picked up their only points of the mini-tournament in a 1-1 draw, with Kostantinos Stavropoulos cancelling out Darius Aleknavicius' long-range strike for the Deimantas Tamulenas's side.

Tisza win
On matchday 2, Tisza took out their frustration on Kvintencija with a 4-1 win. Two goals from Tamás Kulcsár and one each for László Sipos and Bódi sealed the win for the home side, while Andrius Meilis scored the goal that briefly levelled the scores for the Lithuanians.

Patronis impressed
Meanwhile, Central Slovakia pressed their advantage with a 2-0 win against Achaia with two goals from Richard Privitzer. Greek coach Nikolaos Patronis was impressed, saying: "I think that Slovakian side is the best team in the tournament and would be the best team to go to the final round."

Last hurrah
Petrak's men confirmed that with a 5-0 win against dispirited Kvintencija on the final day, with Maros Fojtik and Peter Planco scoring a goal apiece while Jaroslav Sidlo scooped a hat-trick. Meanwhile, Zsolt Petro and Attila Bellon scored to give Tisza a 2-0 win against Achaia.
