Borko Veselinovic was the leading scorer of the U19 finals despite Serbia and Montenegro's last-four elimination.

Borko Veselinovic was the leading scorer of the 2005 UEFA European Under-19 Championship finals - despite Serbia and Montenegro's last-four elimination.

Fryatt falls short
Veselinovic struck five goals in the group stage, and even after his side lost 3-1 to a Matthew Fyratt hat-trick for England in the semi-finals, he was still one ahead of the Walsall FC striker. Fryatt was substituted on 76 minutes in England's 3-1 defeat by France tonight, having not added to his tally.

Balde's fourth
Abdoulaye Balde, in scoring France's second, took his finals total level with Fryatt at four, but he took could not strike an elusive fifth. Yohan Gourcuff, who had three before tonight, remained on that mark for fourth place, while none of the other final scorers - Mohamed Chakouri and Yohan Gouffran of France and England's Lee Holmes - had previously registered in Northern Ireland. In all the 15 games in Northern Ireland produced a healthy 46 goals.
