Picking his team of the year was a simple process for Temuri Ketsbaia, who said: "Most of the players in my team are from the German national side, mainly because of their results and performances at the FIFA World Cup."
The only Georgia player to score against Germany, Ketsbaia left his post as coach of the national team last month. The former FC Dinamo Tbilisi, Newcastle United FC, AEK Athens FC and Anorthosis Famagusta FC winger nevetheless still keeps a close eye on European football.

Vote for your Team of the Year 2014
Manuel Neuer: Conceded only four goals in seven matches at the World Cup, proving his credibility, and he's just as strong for his club. Neuer has many qualities and there are many reasons to name him as the best goalkeeper around.
David Alaba: The young Austria defender is one of the world's most rapidly improving players. He's shown impressive form at Bayern München during the year, which is not easy given the number of talented defenders within that squad.
Mats Hummels: Even if Borussia Dortmund can't find consistency this term, Hummels is still one of the best centre-backs. His goals against Portugal and France in Brazil were very important.
Vincent Kompany: Belgium have been one of the most intense national teams of recent years, and Kompany is a big man behind this. Moreover, he won both the League Cup and Premier League with Manchester City last term.
Philipp Lahm: Versatile Bayern player and one of Germany's best at the World Cup. In fact 2014 was the perfect year for him to finish his international career.
Toni Kroos: He made a solid impact at Real Madrid after a bright World Cup. He has great technique, especially in long shots and passing, and he's typically cold-blooded.
Paul Pogba: The youngest in my team, he stole my attention while still in France's youth teams. You can see his potential.
Arjen Robben: Netherlands' World Cup results, progressing from a very demanding group, surprised many. Robben was a key man behind this success. A great dribbler who also excels with his leadership.
Zlatan Ibrahimović: Modern football is graced with an array of stars and the Paris Saint-Germain forward has a rightful place among them. When he is on the pitch you can expect a goal from any position.
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo: Both have an ocean of fans all over the world and won major recognition from the public. This tells you a lot. They became true leaders by scoring in each and every game. In my opinion their special rivalry illuminates them in an even brighter light.
