Operation
The central defender was substituted late in the first half of England's 3-2 quarter-final defeat of Finland in Turku and travelled home for an operation. However, the intention is for her to rejoin the squad with a possible eye to playing in Thursday's Helsinki final in a protective mask should England defeat the Netherlands in Tampere. In the semi-final, midfielder Fara Williams will captain England while, should right-back Alex Scott recover from a groin problem, Lindsay Johnson will return to the middle to partner Anita Asante, who herself missed two group games through injury.
