Milner handed new Newcastle deal

Newcastle United FC's 21-year-old midfielder James Milner has pledged his future to the Premier League club by penning a new four-year contract.

England Under-21 midfielder James Milner has pledged his future to Newcastle United FC by penning a new four-year contract.

Youngest scorer
The 21-year-old scored three times in 35 league appearances last season after spending the previous year on loan at Aston Villa FC. Milner shot to prominence when he broke Wayne Rooney's record by becoming the youngest Premier League scorer at the age of 16 years and 357 days when at Leeds United AFC - a mark now held by international team-mate James Vaughan. He made four appearances for Stuart Pearce's England side at this summer's UEFA European Under-21 Championship in the Netherlands. "I'm delighted to have signed a new contract," said Milner. "Newcastle United is a great football club and hopefully I can be here for a few more years yet and help the team be a success. It is an exciting time at the club and I am very happy to be a part of it."
