European success

Serra Ferrer had success in this season's competition, with two wins, two draws and two defeats in the group stage almost earning the Athenian side a place in the first knockout round. They moved into the UEFA Cup Round of 32 but were knocked out over two legs by Paris Saint-Germain FC.

AEK have begun planning for the new season, signing 25-year-old defender Tamandani Nsaliwa from Super League rivals Panionios NFC. The Malawi-born Canadian international has signed a three-year contract with the club. The club have also brought in Brazilian defender Edson on a free transfer, with the 20-year-old committing to a five-year contract. Meanwhile, the club have released 30-year-old goalkeeper Dionysios Hiotis and 25-year-old defender Evangelos Moras. AEK head to the United States on Friday to play a friendly game against SL Benfica at New Jersey's Giants Stadium on Sunday.
