UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 prize money increased
The UEFA Executive Committee approved a €41 million in prize money for UEFA Women’s EURO 2025, representing a 156% increase on the figure from 2022.
Participating national associations will now also distribute a guaranteed percentage of the rewards – between 30% and 40% - to their players for the first time.
Club benefits payments will increase to €6 million, compensating European clubs who release players for the tournament thus making it women's football's highest club benefits programme globally.
The greater rewards reflect UEFA's on-going commitment to growing women's football across Europe, with €1 billion committed to the game's development between 2024 and 2030.
Full details of the prize money can be accessed here.
UEFA Nations League Finals
The Executive Committee appointed the winners of the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals between Italy and Germany as provisional hosts for the finals of the tournament from 4 to 8 June 2025. The two stadiums in Turin (Juventus and Torino), and Munich and Stuttgart respectively, have been selected to host the games.
Name of second women’s club competition
UEFA Women’s Europa Cup was chosen as the name of the newly created second women’s club competition.
Announced a year ago, the tournament will launch in the 2025/26 season and give more teams the chance to test themselves against continental opposition, in a two-legged straight knockout format.
Competition branding and the new trophy will be presented in 2025 ahead of next season's kick-off.
UEFA women’s club competitions 2025–30 – Financial distribution system
A new record revenue distribution system for UEFA women’s club competitions was approved as of the 2025/26 season which marks the start of a new five-year cycle for women’s club football in Europe.
There will be a transformation of club competitions as the UEFA Women's Champions League adopts a centralised 18-team league phase alongside the introduction of the brand-new UEFA Women's Europa Cup.
Centralised media and sponsorship rights of the League Stage of the UEFA Women’s Champions League will enhance the visibility of the competition and attract more revenues, ensuring increased rewards for participating clubs based on their performance, while also ensuring consistent solidarity across the women's football ecosystem.
For the first two seasons (2025/26 and 2026/27), it is projected that €37.7m per season will be available for distribution, whereas for the last three seasons (2027/28, 2028/29 and 2029/30), it is projected that €46.7m per season will be available for distribution.
