UEFA Foundation for Children grants awarded to 72 life-changing projects

The UEFA Foundation for Children has harnessed the power of football to transform the lives of millions of children since it was established in 2015.

Each year, grants are offered to football- and sport-related projects run by charities, as well as humanitarian, non-governmental and non-profit organisations.

Now, 72 impactful projects have become the latest to receive a share of a €5 million grant.

From the European Amputee Football Federation to the Aliguma Foundation in Uganda, Right to Learn Afghanistan and GOALS Haiti, the 72 chosen projects are having an impact in 80 countries.

"I am very pleased to announce that our board members have decided to support 72 projects through the Foundation in 2025," said the UEFA Foundation for Children's new general secretary, Carine N'koué.

"We all know how powerful sport and especially football can be. Those projects use that incredible power to impact the lives of countless children around the world for a better life."

The grants have been awarded following a call for projects which focus on one of 10 areas – access to sport, personal development, healthy lifestyle, children with disabilities, conflict victims, gender equality, employability, infrastructure and equipment, environment protection and strengthening partnerships.

These are aligned with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

By investing in projects related to these areas, the Foundation is championing and safeguarding the fundamental rights of vulnerable children around the globe, ensuring a brighter future for those who need it most.

The next call for projects is scheduled for June or July 2025.
