Aleksander Čeferin, UEFA President:

Welcome to Lithuania for the 2024 UEFA European Women’s Under-19 Championship final tournament!

The revamped qualifying system has significantly increased competitiveness across the continent, delivering exciting matches and boosting the development of talented young players towards their senior international careers. The seven strongest teams have advanced through the qualifiers to join the hosts in the final push for prestigious European silverware.

Women’s football in Lithuania is on the rise, and I am confident that hosting this tournament will inspire the next generation of girls to participate in the best game in the world. We thank the Lithuanian Football Federation and its president, Edgaras Stankevičius, for their hospitality and outstanding efforts.

And now, it’s time for football’s future stars to take the floor and shine bright on the international stage. I wish all the teams to be on top of their games and may the best one win!

Edgaras Stankevičius, LFF president:

We are happy to welcome football fans to another great international youth football celebration in Lithuania – the UEFA European Women‘s Under-19 Championship, which promises to be a great spectacle for both local supporters and guests from other countries.

For the Lithuanian Football Federation, organising this event is a big challenge and a big responsibility, but one that we relish. The development of women’s football is one of the main areas of growth that we have identified in Lithuania, so this event is extremely important for us.

In recent years, we have noticed a significant increase in the number of girls and women playing football, and now we have 18,000 active female participants across the country. We are confident that our consistent work and staging this prestigious championship will contribute to continued growth in this area.

It will also be a great experience for the Lithuanian national team and will undoubtedly help them grow as footballers. The opportunity to play in the iconic Darius and Girenas Stadium is a chance that not everyone gets. We wish all the teams success, and a fantastic experience with positive emotions for all of the fans.
