Welcome to the Netherlands for the 2023 UEFA Nations League finals!
The final tournament returns to its regular summer slot, providing a fitting conclusion to the season in senior national team football. It will be the third edition of this spectacular competition, which has grown from strength to strength while offering another chance for players and fans to dream of glory. To wear a national team jersey is a pride like no other, but winning a major trophy for your nation is simply divine.
We are here to celebrate the finals – and what a superb few days of football we have in store – but the competition has already provided plenty of dramatic moments. The spectre of promotion or relegation means teams always have something to play for, resulting in captivating storylines.
This week will be the icing on the cake, and I would like to thank our Dutch hosts and their president Just Spee for holding this year's tournament – at two stadiums steeped in the history of our wonderful game.
The two previous final tournaments have been of the highest quality and the calibre of the sides taking part this time – the Netherlands, Croatia, Italy and Spain – mean expectations remain sky-high. Three of these teams have previously taken part in UEFA Nations League finals, but they still need to win it. So, let's see whose name will be engraved on the back of this beautiful trophy.
Enjoy the action and may the best team win!
