The group stages of UEFA’s main three men’s club competitions – the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Europa Conference League – will be one of the most inclusive yet. Almost two-thirds of UEFA’s member associations will be represented (36 out of 55) and will play a minimum of six matches against sides from across the continent.
Clubs from Kosovo, Lithuania and Liechtenstein will be experiencing the group stage of a major UEFA club competition for the very first time – which can only help to increase the visibility of football in these countries.
The establishment of the Europa Conference League has been crucial to this development. Aside from giving more players the chance to experience European football, which will help to develop their careers, the competition has also given clubs and their fans the chance to dream of winning a European trophy.
More than half of UEFA's member associations, 28 out of 55, will be represented this year in the group stage of the Europa Conference League.
