The talks, held in London, followed Baltakos’s election as EPO President for a two-year term in June. Discussions centred on Baltakos’s vision, announced after his election, to enhance the EPO’s role within Greek football and strengthen the organisation’s structures for the future.
The UEFA President was also briefed about the EPO’s drive to strengthen the national team, grassroots development activities in Greece and the creation of a national team centre and offices.
Baltakos, a qualified lawyer, has been involved in sport in Greece for a considerable number of years.
He was the legal counsel of the Greek League from 1990 to 1998, and has also served as vice-president of Panathinaikos FC and general secretary of the Greek goverment.
