UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin attends CONMEBOL Council

A UEFA delegation including President Aleksander Čeferin has today attended a meeting of the CONMEBOL Council.

A UEFA delegation comprising President Aleksander Čeferin, vice-presidents Sándor Csányi and Fernando Gomes and Chief of Football Zvonimir Boban, has today attended a meeting of the CONMEBOL Council in Luque, Paraguay, upon invitation from CONMEBOL President Alejandro Domínguez.

The meeting was an opportunity to address various issues related to the strategic relationship that CONMEBOL and UEFA have been consolidating for years, as was underlined by the ratification of a renewed Memorandum of Understanding in December 2021.

The operation of the joint office set up in London and the possibility to organise joint football events in the future were some of the topics discussed today.

Dominguez and Čeferin underlined their personal commitment and that of their organisations to the growth and development of football and their firm belief that football can be a positive force to change lives, improve societies and unite individuals, countries and continents.

UEFA and CONMEBOL have greatly strengthened their ties since the election of President Domínguez six years ago and will continue working closely together in the future for the benefit of football at large.
