Real Madrid CF are the first team to confirm their place in the last four of this season's Copa del Rey, a 1-0 win against RCD Espanyol in the Spanish capital completing a 2-0 aggregate success.

The result was never in doubt after Jesé struck after seven minutes, chasing down Xabi Alonso's ball over the top and controlling before supplying a calm finish. Cristiano Ronaldo had a rare off night in front of goal, passing up a number of decent opportunities, but it was to be of no consequence, Víctor Sánchez's dismissal 12 minutes from the end making Espanyol's cause even more hopeless.

The remaining quarter-final ties conclude on Wednesday and Thursday night.

Athletic Club (0-1) Club Atlético de Madrid
FC Barcelona (1-4) Levante UD
Real Racing Club Santander (1-3) Real Sociedad de Fútbol
