Real Madrid CF are the first team to confirm their place in the last four of this season's Copa del Rey, a 1-0 win against RCD Espanyol in the Spanish capital completing a 2-0 aggregate success.
The result was never in doubt after Jesé struck after seven minutes, chasing down Xabi Alonso's ball over the top and controlling before supplying a calm finish. Cristiano Ronaldo had a rare off night in front of goal, passing up a number of decent opportunities, but it was to be of no consequence, Víctor Sánchez's dismissal 12 minutes from the end making Espanyol's cause even more hopeless.
The remaining quarter-final ties conclude on Wednesday and Thursday night.
