AS Roma missed a chance to move up to sixth in Serie A after conceding an equaliser at Udinese Calcio.
Midway through the first half, Roma's Alessandro Florenzi had two great opportunities in quick succession to give Roma the lead. Sent through by Francesco Totti's quickly-taken free kick, he saw his shot well saved by Željko Brkić. The goalkeeper then saved the midfielder's diving header from another Totti delivery, but Erik Lamela was able to tidy up on the rebound for his 12th Serie A goal of the season.
Udinese levelled just after the hour, Colombian striker Luis Muriel controlling a long ball and beating two Roma defenders before striking between Giallorossi goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg's legs, but their chances of a winner were dealt a blow when Thomas Heurtaux was sent off for a foul on Florenzi. Pablo Osvaldo then passed up a good chance for Roma late on.
