News round-up: 1. FC Köln and RC Celta de Vigo have unveiled players on a busy day for top-flight newcomers.

1. FC Köln

Over in Spain, promoted RC Celta de Vigo have signed Jorge Larena on a one-year loan from Club Atlético de Madrid. The 23-year-old winger has a contract in Madrid until 2007 but could earn an extended stay with Celta if all goes well.

FC International Milano left-back Giovanni Pasquale has joined Parma FC on loan for the 2005/06 campaign. The 23-year-old former Italian Under-21 international, who has made 36 Serie A appearances over two-and-a-half seasons with Inter, spent the second half of last season with AC Siena.

Le Mans UC 72 have signed ES Tunis striker Edorisi Ekhosuehi to bolster their return to Ligue 1 in France. The 21-year-old Nigerian youth international has agreed a one-year contract. AS Nancy Lorraine, another newly promoted side, have signed three new players: Brazilian defenders André Luiz Silva do Nascimento and Adailton, and Uruguay midfielder Adrian Sarkssian from CA River Plate.

Also in France, OGC Nice have taken Cameroon right-back Bill Tchato from 1. FC Kaiserslautern on a free transfer and two-year contract. The 30-year-old previously played in France for Montpelier Hérault SC.

Belarus goalkeeper Vasili Khomutovsky has pledged his future to the Romanian champions FC Steaua Bucuresti. Khomutovsky had fallen out with previous coach Walter Zenga but is back in favour under new boss Oleh Protasov. Khomutovsky has a contract until January 2007.

FC Barcelona midfielder Ramón Ros has joined second division UE Lleida on a one-year contract. The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at CD Numancia.

In Scotland, Dunfermline AFC have agreed a two-year contract with former Celtic FC forward Mark Burchill. The 24-year-old was available on a free transfer after leaving Heart of Midlothian FC.

The 32-year-old RC Strasbourg goalkeeper Richard Dutruel has decided to take a year out of football The former Celta, Barcelona and Deportivo Alavès shot-stopper has suffered from a persistent back problem and is to "reflect on the future", according to Strasbourg.

United States defender Oguchi Onyewu has extended his contract with R. Standard de Liège for another 12 months until the summer of 2007, with an option of a further year. The 23-year-old former FC Metz player had moved to the Belgian side on a permanent deal last October and has continued to impress.

Sporting Clube de Portugal have again loaned centre-back Santamaria to CF Estrela da Amadora, after he helped the Reboleira side to return to the SuperLiga. The 23-year old centre-back is a product of Sporting's youth system but has yet to establish himself in the first team of the Lisbon outfit.

Dutch second division champions Heracles Almelo have signed the 19-year-old Estonia defender Ragnar Klavan on a three-year contract from Vålerenga IF of Norway.

IFK Göteborg have agreed to sell reserve goalkeeper John Alvbåge to Danish side Viborg FF for €3m. Alvbåge had struggled for games at the Swedish club behind first-choice Bengt Andersson. The 23-year old Alvbåge was a part of his country's squad at UEFA EURO 2004™.

Meanwhile, Helsingborgs IF have signed former Djurgårdens IF and Sweden Under-21 striker Babis Stefanidis on a free transfer from Brøndby IF. Swedish international defender Nils-Eric Johansson has left Blackburn Rovers FC for second division Leicester City FC on a two-year contract. The 25-year-old moves on a free transfer.

Finally, FC København's Faroese international Todi Jonsson is leaving for Norwegian leaders IK Start on a two-and-a-half year contract. The 33-year-old scored 68 goals in 206 appearances for FCK.
