Olympiakos Nicosia FC have signed defender Kakos Kyriakou and midfield player Aristides Magafinis.

Olympiakos Nicosia FC, who are challenging at the top of the Cypriot First Division, have strengthened their squad by signing AEL Limassol FC defender Kakos Kyriakou and Greek midfield player Aristides Magafinis from FC Kavala.

Signings completed
After completing the deals, coach Nicos Andronicou said Olympiakos would be making no more moves in the transfer market this month: "After the signings of Kyriakou and Magafinis, I am happy to say that our signings this January have been completed and all the players have begun training normally."

In and out
The two new players were brought in following an injury to Nicos Stavrou, who broke his leg in the derby game against Omonia Nicosia FC, and the departure of Greek playmaker Angelos Dikozos, who has been released by the Nicosia club.

'Our target is second place'
Olympiakos currently lie third in the league standings, seven points behind leaders APOEL Nicosia FC and four adrift of second-placed Omonia. "Our target this season is to secure second place in the league standings," said Andronicou.

Impressive form
Nonetheless, the three-time title winners have been in impressive form since the season resumed after the winter break, following a 6-0 win at Nea Salamis FC 6-0 in the group stages of the Cypriot Cup with a 2-0 home league win over Ethnikos Achnas FC.
