Reggina Calcio striker Erjon Bogdani has been ruled out for five months after tests confirmed he ruptured ligaments in his left knee.
One goal
The Albanian international was hurt during Wednesday's 3-0 defeat by S.S. Lazio. Bogdani, who had scored one goal in four matches this season, will not return to action until next spring at the earliest.
New coach
Reggina, who appointed Luigi De Canio as their new coach yesterday, will probably replace Bogdani in attack with Gianluca Savoldi. However, they will probably seek a replacement for the 25-year-old when the transfer market reopens in January.
One win
The club are 16th in Serie A, with just one win from their first eight games. De Canio was appointed to replace the sacked Bortolo Mutti.
