Internazionale FC maintained their three-point advantage over AC Milan.

Internazionale FC maintained their three-point advantage over rivals AC Milan at the top of Serie A as both recorded wins on Sunday.

Second-half goals
Christian Vieri and Alvaro Recoba scored the goals for Inter as they overcame lowly Como Calcio 2-0. The away side took 59 minutes to take the lead through Vieri, but once he had scored Recoba added a second soon afterwards to secure the win.

Inzaghi milestone
Milan were victors by the same scoreline at home to struggling Reggina Calcio. In-form Filippo Inzaghi – who has declared he wants to end his career at Milan – scored his 100th league goal on 18 minutes, converting the rebound from a saved Rivaldo penalty after a foul on Rui Costa which saw Jorge Vargas dismissed. Rivaldo made up for that miss by making it 2-0 in the 63rd minute.

Del Piero winner
Juventus FC are third but they left it late to secure a 1-0 win at Modena FC, substitute Alessandro Del Piero scoring with 16 minutes left – the home side having had a Giuseppe Sculli goal ruled out.

Fourth-placed Lazio
S.S. Lazio are up to fourth place after they beat Empoli FC 2-1. Bernardo Corradi gave Lazio a lead on 44 minutes, only for Gianluca Atzori to level before the break. However, Dejan Stankovic was on target to ensure Lazio overtake Bologna, who drew 0-0 with Udinese Calcio on Saturday.

Ten-man Roma comeback
AS Roma – who beat Real Madrid CF in the UEFA Champions League in midweek – had to recover from going 2-0 down and having goalkeeper Francesco Antonioli sent off to gain a draw with AC Perugia. Antonioli was dismissed in the 37th minute for bringing down Fabrizio Miccoli in the area, Zé Maria beating replacement custodian Ivan Pelizzoli from the resulting penalty.

Miccoli on target
Miccoli doubled the lead on 42 minutes, but Christian Panucci gave Roma hope midway through the second half and Francesco Totti salvaged a point with a volleyed goal 18 minutes from the end.

Relief for Atalanta
Atalanta BC moved off the bottom with their first win of the season, overcoming Piacenza FC 2-0 with goals from Luigi Sala and Gianni Comandini in the last 12 minutes. In Sunday's late game, Parma AC slumped to a surprise 1-0 home defeat at the hands AC Chievo Verona, as Sergio Pellisier scored a dramatic added-time winner to steal the three points for the visitors.
