Article body
Grasshopper-Club blew the Swiss championship race wide open with today's 1-0 defeat of Nationalliga A leaders FC Basel.
Wonder goal
Their Uruguayan midfield player Richard Nuñez ran the length of the pitch to drill home the winning goal in the 67th minute. Grasshoppers go second in the table, four points behind Basel, who have a game in hand.
Thrilling match
Servette FC beat FC Sion, the bottom club, 3-2 to go fourth, with the winner coming from Marcelo Rosa in the closing stages of the game. Sion fell behind twice to goals from Blaise Piffaretti, who put the ball in his own net, and Alexander Frei, but fought back through Rogerio Moreira and Samuel Ojong to level the scores.
No place like home
BSC Young Boys preserved their unbeaten home record in beating FC Zürich 3-2. Goals from Avraham Tikva, Sermeter Gürkan and Artur Petrosyan put Young Boys in command, but a late rally from Zürich saw Frédéric Chassot and Ursal Yasar narrow the lead to one goal before the final whistle.
