Belgian international Danny Boffin has signed a one-year extension to his contract at K. Sint Truidense VV.

Coaching ambitions
Boffin, regarded as one of the quickest players in the Belgian first division despite his 36 years, is delighted with his new deal. "I am very happy at Sint Truidense, the club closest to my heart," he said. "The prospect of playing for another season excites me and I then hope to stay on and join the technical staff."

World Cup hopes
Capped 60 times, Boffin hopes to travel to the 2002 FIFA World Cup, although he is now a back up to Hertha BSC Berlin's Bart Goor rather than an automatic choice in midfield. He is expected to retire in two years when his contract at the Staaien stadium expires.
