Article body
FC Saturn maintained their 100 per cent record to stay top of the Russian Premier-Liga after a 2-0 win against ten-man FC Rostselmash Rostov-Na-Donu.
Quiet spell
In a quiet opening spell the only moment of interest was the sending-off of Rostselmash defender Aleksandr Shmarko when he brought down Sergei Rogachev just outside the area.
First goal
The first goal came on 54 minutes when Valeri Kechinov's ten-metre effort was deflected off Mikhail Kuprianov's legs. The home side wrapped up the win on 73 minutes when Rogachev put the ball home from close range.
Sychev on song
Elsewhere, two goals from Dmitri Sychev helped FC Spartak Moscow to a 3-0 win over FC Shinnik Yaroslavl. Sychev opened the scoring on eleven minutes when he scored a header from an Eduard Tsikhmeistruk cross from the left flank.
Long-range effort
On the stroke of half-time Dmytro Parfenov made it two with a superb long-range effort. Sychev wrapped things up for the home side with an excellent solo effort 12 minutes from time when he ran for 20 metres before deftly lobbing Eugeni Kornukhin. Shinnik's best chance of the game came in the second half when Artem Yashkin hit the post from a free-kick.
Krylya go second
Krylya Sovetov Samara moved into second following their 4-1 away win over FC Alania Vladikavkaz. Andrei Kariaka opened the scoring on 33 minutes and they extended their lead four minutes from the break through Botelio Gaucho.
Alania goal
Anton Bober made it three four minutes after the restart but Alania clawed their way back into the game with a goal from Grigol Imedadze to make it 3-1. But despite having the bulk of the possession the home side could do little to prevent Krylia's fourth and final goal from Robertas Poshkus just before the hour. In the day's other game, Uralan Elista and FC Lokomotiv Moscow ground out a goalless draw.
