Feyenoord stayed top of the Eredivisie on goal difference after a Jon Dahl Tomasson goal gave them a narrow 1-0 win against FC Groningen on Sunday.
Rzasa pass
The Danish striker struck from five metres after a long ball from Thomasz Rzasa to put a favourable light an otherwise poor performance from the Rotterdam side.
Machlas at the double
Elsewhere, Nikos Machlas scored twice in his first start since December as AFC Ajax kept pace in second with a 3-1 win over RKC Waalwijk. The Greek international netted in first-half stoppage time and again in the 75th minute.
Bergdølmo makes amends
Waalwijk pulled a goal back when Dejan Govedarice intercepted a pass-back from Andrè Bergdølmo to Fred Grim before knocking the ball past the surprised Ajax goalkeeper. Bergdølmo made amends in the 88th minute, firing home from the spot after Andy van der Meyde won a penalty following a foul in the box by David Nascimento.
NEC go goal crazy
NEC Nijmegen scored three goals in the first six minutes on their way to a 4-1 win against FC Utrecht. Previously the league's most goal-shy side with just 17 in 21 games, Johan Neeskens' troops made amends as Patrick Ax netted twice and Danny Hesp also scored in an amazing opening sequence. Second-half substitute Paulus Roiha pulled a goal back in the 66th minute but Frank Demouge made sure of the points for NEC two minutes later.
