Ronald Brunmayr has been voted Austrian Footballer of the Year by the ten coaches of the Austrian Bundesliga.

22 goals in 22 matches
Brunmayer has an outstanding record this season having scored 22 times in 22 league games for Grazer AK. He was chosen just ahead of FC Tirol Innsbruck captain Michael Baur.

'Biggest moment'
Brunmayr, who now has set his sights on beating Ivica Vastic's 32-goal haul in the 1999/2000 season, was delighted to receive the prestigious honour. "This title is so far the biggest moment of my career," he said. "Being recognised for my solid performances this season by the biggest football experts in this country is a very big honour and it is a signal for me to carry on this way."

International honours
The striker has been capped four times by Austria, but has yet to score at international level. The 26-year-old did not take part in Austria’s 2002 FIFA World Cup qualifying play-off against Turkey due to an ankle injury.
