FK Crvena Zvezda moved up to second in the Yugoslav first division on Wednesday with an emphatic 4-0 win over FK Zeleznik.

Acimovic shines
It was a timely win for the hosts as there is only one more round of matches in Yugoslavia before the winter break. Slovenia midfield player Milenko Acimovic was the man of the match and scored two goals in a memorable performance. His first was a header on 22 minutes and his second a penalty in the 66th minute. Two more goals from Branko Jelic and Mihajlo Pjanovic, just before the interval, assured all three points for Crvena Zvezda.

Sartid slip
Fourth-placed FK Sartid let a two-goal lead slip in a 2-2 home draw with FK Rudar Plevlja. Goran Bogdanovic started the scoring for the hosts in the 14th minute with an outstanding individual effort before Vladimir Mudrinic doubled the advantage five minutes later. Rudar were back in the match with a strange goal in the 63rd minute. Sartid goalkeeper Dragan Zilic tried to kick clear but it struck Aleksandar Minic and went into the net. Nenad Perisic grabbed the equaliser a minute from time following a goalmouth scramble.

Apatin held
At the bottom, FK Mladost Apatin missed the opportunity to move away from the basement after a 1-1 draw at home to fellow strugglers FK Cukaricki. Second-from bottom FK Radnicki Kragujevac went down to a 3-0 defeat at FK Sutjeska.

Impressive form
Fifth-placed FK Vojvodina maintained their impressive form of late with a 4-1 win over FK Zemun. Ilija Stolica gave the visitors a first-half lead with a goal in the 32nd minute, but a double strike from Radovan Krivokapic and further goals from Igor Bogdanovic and Milos Krasic sealed all three points for the home side.

Tight contest
In other matches on Wednesday, OFK Beograd defeated FK Hajduk Kula 2-0, FK Rad saw off FK Zeta by the same scoreline, while FK Zvezdara edged a tight contest at home to FK Mladost Lucani 2-1.
