NK Zagreb extended their advantage at the top of the Prva HNL with a 2-0 away win over third-placed HNK Hajduk Split on Sunday.
Olic assist
Dalibor Poldrugac opened their scoring for the visitors after just six minutes, finishing with a fine half-volley after receiving a pass from Ivica Olic, the league's leading scorer and a possible transfer target for Juventus FC.
Winter break
Goran Stavrevski doubled the tally in the 70th minute to secure a victory that leaves Zagreb top as the season stops for the winter break – and on course to break the stranglehold that Hadjuk and NK Dinamo Zagreb have had on the title since Croatian independence in 1991.
Leko winner
Dinamo are in fourth place after a hard-fought 2-1 home win over HNK Cibalia. The home side took the lead through Dario Zahora after a quarter of an hour but Mladen Bartolovic equalised four minutes later. Jerko Leko became Dinamo's hero when he fired in the winner after 30 minutes.
Eleventh place
HNK Rijeka fell six points behind Dinamo after slumping to a 1-0 away defeat by NK Osijek. Almir Turkovic scored the only goal of the game after 53 minutes to elevate his side into eleventh spot.
Lalic penalty
NK Hrvatski Dragovoljac climbed to eighth after defeating NK Marsonia 2-0 at home. A Marin Lalic penalty after 41 minutes and a Tomislav Dujmovic strike eight minutes from time sealed the win.
Vital win
NK Papuk Kamen Ingrad Venika's hopes of climbing away from the bottom half of the table were helped by a 1-0 home win over bottom club TŠK Topolovac, with Drazen Vidovic netting the winner after 41 minutes. NK Pomorac are ninth after a goalless draw against struggling HNK Šibenik in Sunday's other game.
