Table-topping Galatasaray SK thrashed third-placed Istanbulspor AS 4-1 in Friday night's 1. Lig game in Turkey.
Akin opener
Bülent Akin gave Galatasaray the lead after ten minutes. The visitors' cause was not helped by a double sending-off before half-time as Ivailo Petkov and Alban Bushi were both dismissed.
Numerical superiority
The hosts took advantage of their numerical superiority to extend their lead, first through Arif Erdem (48) and then Serkan Akyut (59). A Bülent Üçüncü penalty reduced the arrears on 86 minutes but Arif's second goal reasserted Galatasaray's three-goal cushion with a minute left.
Latest standings
The result means that Galatasaray are now four points clear of nearest rivals Fenerbahçe SK, although they have played a game more. Istanbulspor are now ten points adrift of first place.
