The technical centre of the Maltese Football Association (MFA) recently organised a course for prospective physical trainers in football.
The course, held at the Ta'Qali national football complex, was intended to provide training in the field of specialised physical preparation for top-level footballers. Lectures were given by a host of experts, many of whom are of international repute. They included speakers from Italy and England, with Maltese specialists also participating in the event.
The MFA's national teams sector is constantly engaged in this field of activity and the response from prospective trainers in the Maltese islands has been very encouraging. This was the second comprehensive course of its kind after 13 candidates successfully completed the inaugural training last year. This MFA initiative has raised awareness of the importance of footballers achieving optimal levels of fitness.
