FK Sartid's hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Cup are virtually over after they lost 3-2 against FK Sutjeska in the Yugoslav first division today.
Sartid start well
Looking to close the gap on second-placed NK Crvena Zvezda, the side from Smederevo began the game at a canter and were 2-0 up by the interval. Nenad Mirosavljevic gave them a 15th-minute lead which Demir Ramovic doubled six minutes before the interval.
Sutjeska hit back
However, just as Sartid looked to have the game wrapped up, Sutjeska hit back. Srdjan Radonjic's 64th-minute goal halved the deficit before further strikes from Semjon Milosevic (80 minutes) and Novica Mikovic (81) secured a remarkable win for the hosts.
Sartid stay nine adrift
The defeat means Sartid stay nine points adrift of second-placed Crvena Zvezda who occupy the league's UEFA Cup qualification place. Sartid have seven games left while Crvena Zvezda have eight.
Zvezdara fears increase
In the day's other game, FK Zvezdara's relegation fears increased when they lost 2-0 at home to OFK Beograd. A goal in each half from Milorad Popovic and Nenad Djordjevic settled the game.
